Tiger Cub Camp
 

DATES:
July 23-26, 2012

Tiger Cub camp is open to girls from K - 6th grades.  The camp will focus on all aspects of the game with emphasis on fundamental skill development from the beginner to the more experienced player.  Campers will be grouped based on age and skill level.  Campers should bring a sack lunch.  Camp will run from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday - Thursday.  Early drop-off (7:45am) and late pick-up (5:15pm) will be available, at no additional cost.  PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR MEDICAL & LIABILITY FORM INFORMATION!

Youth Skills Camp

 

DATES: 
July 22-25, 2012 

 

Open to girls entering the 6th-9th grade.  The camp will focus on individual skill development.  Basic technique will be taught and drilled: competitive drills will be used in the evening to further refine skills.  Players will be grouped by age and skill level.  The camp schedule includes 2 training sessions on Sunday, 3 sessions on Monday and Tuesday and 2 sessions on Wednesday.  Approximate times for the training session on a full day are: 8:30-11:15am, 1:30-4:30pm, and 6:30-9:00pm.   Our always popular SKIT NIGHT will be scheduled for Tuesday night!  All meals will be provided for overnight campers, lunch and dinner are provided for commuters.  Parents are invited to observe camp at any time during the training sessions.  PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR MEDICAL & LIABILITY FORM INFORMATION!

Elite Camp

DATES: 
July 13-15, 2012

Open to girls entering the 9th-12th grades. This camp is a high-level, position specific camp, designed for players who have a mastery of fundamental skills. Training will focus on advanced technical and tactical aspects of volleyball.

Individual Skills Camp 

DATES: 
July 15-18, 2012

Open to girls entering the 6th-12th grade.  The camp will focus on individual skill development.  Basic technique will be taught and drilled: competitive drills will be used in the evening to further refine skills.  Players will be grouped by age and skill level.  The camp schedule includes 2 training sessions on Sunday, 3 sessions on Monday and Tuesday and 2 sessions on Wednesday.  Approximate times for the training sessions on a full day are: 8:30-11:15am, 1:30-4:30pm, and 6:30-9:00pm.  WORLD FAMOUS skit night is scheduled for Tuesday night.  All meals will be provided.  Parents are invited to observe camp at any time during the training sessions.  PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR MEDICAL & LIABILITY FORM INFORMATION!

Position Camp

DATES:
July 26-27 , 2012

FOR HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS ONLY!  Open to girls entering the 9th-12th grades - there will be NO EXCEPTIONS.  The camp will consist of position specific training for setters, middle blockers, outside hitters, opposite hitters and liberos.  Position specific basic skills will be taught including the following:  All Hitters: Basic arm swing, footwork patterns, transition techniques.  Setters: Basic hand position and technique, movement patterns, transition patterns, setting combinations and set selection.  Liberos: Basic technique, floor skills, along with techniques to read hitters.  As we progress through the clinic, we will combine the groups for interactive learning.  This year there will be 3 sessions on Wednesday, and 2 sessions on Thursday.  PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR MEDICAL & LIABILITY FORM INFORMATION!

Team Camp
 
Team camp is open to high school varsity, junior varsity, freshman, and middle school teams. LSU Tiger Volleyball camp is designed to provide a balance of skill instruction and team competition.  In order to provide a more broad based camp enviornment, we are offering two different options.  Option 1 will consist of four skill sessions and four competitive sessions.  Option 2 will consist of two skill sessions and four competitive sessions.  For Options 1 and 2, coaches can choose to have housing and meals included for players and staff for an additional fee, (housing and meals cannot be separated).

Required Paperwork:

Coaches should fill out a registration form with all pertinent information (i.e., name, email, phone number, name of school, camp option, housing option and number of players) PRIOR to the start of camp.  They are also responsible for the $TBA payment (which is per school, not per team).  Coaches should collect players' registration forms and medical liability forms, make sure they are completed and ready to be turned in by camp check-in, (forms can also be mailed prior to the start of camp).  Coaches can also instruct their players to register online, but should still collect and turn in medical liability forms as a team. 

 

HOUSING and MEALS for all camps except Tiger Cub:

Housing for all overnight campers will be provided in an on-campus dormitory, West Hall, which is located across the parking lot from the Fieldhouse.  Please see our checklist for information about what you will need to bring with you to camp.  

Meals for all of our overnight camps will be provided at an on-campus location for both commuter and overnight campers.

Medical Form Information

A copy of our medical form will be e-mailed following acceptance of registration and deposit. It can also be printed off from this page.  The form MUST be completed and returned by the first day of camp.  No camper will be allowed to participate in any camp until their medical form has been received.  Forms should be filled out entirely and must include insurance information, a parent or guardian's signature, and either a doctor's signature OR an attached copy of a current school physical from 2010-2011 school year.  You have 3 options for turning in your medical form - you can, (1)  bring your form with you at check-in, (2) mail it to: 631 South Lakeview  Baton Rouge, LA 70810 or (3) fax it to: ATTN VOLLEYBALL 225-578-4780.
